The meeting with Alderman Cochran was very interesting.  He touched on some key points about obesity, and how it plays a role of a tradition in the Woodlawn community. This means that obesity’s causes and effects have a long history that are supported by the way that the residents live in and create their community.  One thing I did like was the fact that he gave an example of how this “tradition” is usually practiced by discussing the grocery stores in Woodlawn. However, there were some things about the meeting that were challenging, and those were the fact that he was giving us a lot of information about what he was going to do for his next term if he is re-elected, but only one of us lives in his ward. Besides that he was a cool “fella” to meet!
