This week was super duper productive AND fun!!! On Monday we presented a workshop to promote a healthy lifestyle. We met with students who participate in KLEO Center programming and first led a Family Feud game with questions like “What foods have the most Vitamin C?” and “What foods have the word ‘cheese’ in it?”. Then Lonye and JB led a dance activity where students learned steps to “Rolex” and then competed in a dance off. Lastly, Shruthi and FeFe closed out the workshop with some stretching and relaxation. Overall the students were really excited and learned a lot!

After the workshop on Monday we got straight to sketching and painting our mural. The KLEO Center donated space to us on the outside of the their building. We’re still putting finishing touches on the mural, but we got tons done this week and have already received a lot of compliments by passer-bys. Lastly, we fit in a service project at Ronald McDonald House and baked healthy cookies for their guests! In contrast to our first RMH visit when we make chocolate chip cookies, this time we make oatmeal raisin…MMMMM

To document all of our work, we’ve been putting together a vlog (boomerangs and catchy songs included!). We can’t wait to share it at the final presentation next week, as well as to revisit it as a sort of scrapbook to remember our summer at SSP. Here are some photos from the week:
